About Jen Lee
Hi! (waving enthusiastically)
I'm Jen, a life photographer. I capture significant life events: wedding, birth, beautiful bodies, family; loud hurrahs, hushed vows, giggles and sighs, hellos and even goodbye.
I look for earnest human experience.
I focus on helping my clients forget about the lens. My real work — my best work — comes from their emotions, their quirks, personalities, what they love. We all have a mask we put on in public places and around people we don’t know. My own weirdness seems to make them more comfortable — you can take off the mask and just be yourselves — letting me catch intimate moments that normally aren’t available.
My inspiration comes from artists like Rembrandt and Vermeer and their ability to paint people in the most beautiful light. From nature, and my intimate relationship with wildlife — raw, brutal, and beautiful. From my sons, Maes and Corvus — from raising them to embrace their human experience to the fullest.
Philosophically, I like to think of light as my medium, the moment my canvas.

I'm so glad I had Jen shoot our wedding! I found her through a Google search, and thank goodness I did, because she was a delight to work with! She's super nice, funny, and put us at ease while we did photos.
She was really good at wrangling the whole family for group shots, and keeping things moving with the whole group. Then when it was just my husband and I, she took a step back and let us have some moments to ourselves, which I really appreciated. I really liked that she took time to meet with us beforehand, was very clear about pricing and timelines, and what to expect day-of. She had worked with our coordinator before, which also helped everything run smoothly.
Most importantly, when I got the photos back (right in the timeline she told us) they were AMAZING! I started crying looking at them. She captured our wedding day beautifully. I couldn't be happier with Jen's work!

Jen is AMAZING. She takes the time to get to know you so that she can take pictures that reflect your personality. She went above and beyond with every request, and her photos were stunning. She made my wedding look like it was a fairy tale, and her edits are perfect. If you want someone to capture the moment perfectly, then she is your lady.

Jen is an amazing person and an amazing photographer! Jen really got to know us and learn our story that when it came to the wedding day my husband and I felt like it was our friend taking our pictures. She had an assistant with her the day of the wedding as well. When sheshowed us the first few pictures she had edited less than two days after our wedding, they were so good I cried. She was willing to travel to Issaquah, Wa for our wedding after a change of plans that moved us to a different venue further away. I cannot say enough good things about her! We loved working with her and would recommend to anyone getting married.

Jen was fabulous - she took extra time to get to know my husband and i which made the whole process smoother. She has wonderful ideas for great shots - and in her funny, very kind manner is easily able to round up the wedding party and family for photos - giving clearinstructions for the big group photos while being very open to the more personal photos of me and my husband. Couldn't of asked for anything else! The end product (photos) were beautiful.
