Years ago, during a Halloween party, Jon noticed this pretty girl dressed up as a baseball player. She bought him a beer. And he fell in love with a girl named Cate.
Fast forward a few years, they move to North Carolina, bought a house, and pursue MD and MD/PhD degrees at Duke University. They’re two sides of a scale, balanced.
One normal evening, they take their daily jog on one of their favorite trails. Jon sprints ahead to reach the top of the hill. That’s not difficult, he’s about a foot taller than Cate. She reaches him at the top of the hill. He's down on one knee.
She said yes.
Their wedding day was half fairytale and half friends playing pool at a favorite pub. A group of friends, close, relaxed, and funny.
